Dear friends of Pharmacists Without Borders Canada,

Many members have expressed interest in taking a more active role in PSF-Canada without going on a mission abroad. In response to these requests, we will be holding a fundraising event on Thursday, September 25 called “ Heal the World ”. Among our many missions, we will be highlighting ongoing activities in Mali , Haiti , and Namibia . We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of our founding members as well as all of the students and teachers who participate in the PSF-Canada Mali internship program, which is in its 3 rd year of successful operation.

Along with honourary president Pierre Ducharme, a pharmacist widely recognized for his sense of humour and humanism, we invite you to attend this event. You will have the opportunity to meet with other like-minded people who care about the state of the world and wish to help those in need. We encourage you to invite people from all walks of life, including your friends and family members.

In 2008, PSF-Canada contributed towards a program to treat dermatological infections that affect more than half of the 120 children at the Foyer Marie-Reine des Apôtres orphanage in Haiti . These children are the poorest citizens of this extremely poor country, and they need your help. In Mali , PSF-Canada participated in training sessions for the prevention of AIDS/HIV and anemia in pregnant women. PSF-Canada also speaks out on behalf of stopping inappropriate medication donations.

To make a real difference in the world, PSF-Canada counts on your donations to contribute to the many projects that are waiting to be put into action. We hope to see you at this event.
